Hailing from Lille, France, electro trip-hop duo — Ours Samplus — has produced another dope jam with “Sweet Cans.” This new single encapsulates their signature groovy, jazzy, instrumental neo-soul style perfectly. It’s vibey and smooth, with walking basslines, intricate piano melodies, and softly brushed high-hats aplenty. The pair of producers are masters of taking chillout beats from sampled jazz and enhancing them with their own electronic twist.
“Sweet Cans” is unique in being a mind-meld of several genres, sewn together so flawlessly it creates an entirely new genre in and of itself. It’s the type of track you can enjoy while working or driving, just as much as you can while jiving and shaking your groove thang (yeah, I said it, and I don’t regret it either. Ours Samplus are currently focused on putting together their new opus for 2021, on which “Sweet Cans” will feature. This is a highly awaited follow-up to their 2018 album, Last Frontier, with no release date set as yet.
