Sydney friend-rock aficionados Cull are at it again, and this time they've brought along visual aids! Regular Indie Shuffle readers will no doubt be familiar with the four piece as a number of their previous releases have been featured on the site, including "World Inside Your Head," the first single off the band's debut EP Bà nội (which came out late last year).
The record is a psychedelic masterpiece, built around four tracks of intrigue and adventure, with current single "The Sacred Burial Urn" a great example of Cull's sheer inventiveness. This track transforms a number of times, with massive chasms of sound making way for quirky, whirligig passages and sections of vocal prominence. Given the success both locally and internationally of psych-friendly rockers Tame Impala, people will be quick to reference them as similar, but I think Cull take the genre to another level.
The sci-fi themes to this track are made even more prominent when paired with the accompanying video (which can be enjoyed below).
